So this week was good, but pretty slow. Going into the week, we had a ton of appointments and things to do. But as the week went on, a lot of those appointments fell through. Its all good though, I guess that happens a lot. But it was still a good week. We have been stopping by Delia and Ruben a lot. I don't know if I talked about them last week, because we met them pretty recently. They are awesome!! They are the funniest people I have met on my mission! It is so much fun visiting them. They have two young girls and two sons too. The first time we went to visit Ruben and Delia, there was some other guy there. It turns out it was a missionary from five years ago who served in Wasco and even stayed in our same apartment. He is hilarious! He taught Delia, Ruben, and their family back when he was a missionary in 2009. They really liked him, and now they love missionaries.
Yesterday, we set up an appointment to start teaching them, and I'm really excited. Apparently, they went to church back when Elder Carson was teaching them, and they really liked it. Its going to be really fun to teach them. Speaking of Delia and Ruben, they are the nice family who has been making us most of our strange food... They made the tripas and menudo for us. They made us menudo again yesterday. Menudo is so disgusting... I think I already told you all, but is basically just chunks of cow stomach in a soup. It is the slimiest food I have ever had! They also introduced us to a cool new drink yesterday! I forgot what it is called, but it is basically a couple of raw quail eggs mixed with tomato juice, salt, and hot sauce... Yum!
This week, since a lot of our appointments fell through, we have been doing a lot of finding. We have been knockin' doors and walking down the street talking to people. Going into my mission, that kind of stuff was probably what scared me the most. But my first couple of days I got over it. I actually really like talking to random strangers on the street now. Most of the time they are super nice and willing to talk. And I figured, I've got some pretty good news, so why should I be scared?
Anyway, that was my week.. Oh, and I went on another Exchange with the Zone Leaders. That was pretty cool, except they live in an English speaking area, so I didn't get much of a chance to practice my Spanish. We did find this one lady though who spoke only Spanish, so it was cool to talk to her without being able to fall back on my trainer. I actually held a semi decent conversation! Well, its time to go. I hope you all have a great week! I love and miss you!
