¡Hola familia y amigos! I hope you are all having a good week!! Life is good here at the MTC. Not much new has happened, but I´m still having a lot of fun! Some newbies came into our Zone this last Wednesday! They are all really fun! Some of them were a little bummed for the first few days, and we tried to make them feel better as much as we could. It´s weird, it feels like just yesterday I was one of those bummed out newbies. But we are all having fun now! Sometimes we will play them in volleyball, and my District will destroy them! It is awesome!
So as of Monday, we have four (fake) people to teach! We usually teach each person once every other day, so that means we are teaching twice a day! It gets super stressful! We are getting better at the language, but that is still stressful as well. I feel especially bad for Elder Kim. He´s struggling with the language. On Monday, we taught a 40 minute lesson to a guy named Santiago. The lesson went really well and my Spanish was pretty good, but Elder Kim only said one sentence. It was hard to carry on the entire lesson by myself and I´m not going to lie, I was a little frustrated, but I know it is hard for him. After all, he only did learn Spanish last year. So we have been studying language a little more, staying up a little later, so that he can get better with the language.
Last Wednesday, an old friend of mine who used to live in Northville Ward back in Michigan, Jordan Berrey, arrived at the MTC! She is staying at the Main Campus so I won´t be seeing much of her, but I will see her on Sundays and Tuesdays when we all go to Main Campus for Devotionals! I got to see her Sunday night and it was so cool! That is the first familiar face I´ve seen while at the MTC. I´ve made a bunch of new friends here, but it was so great to see someone from home.
Thank you all so much for all of the letters and packages!! I´m so grateful for that! It is so great to hear from home. Just last night I got five letters and one package! I feel bad, because I get more mail than anyone in my District, but not bad enough that I still don´t get super pumped when we go to the mail room! All of the guys in my District joke that I´m to only guy who gets mail. I´m fine with being that guy!! But seriously, thank you all so much!
Well, I´m going to wrap up. I´m loving it here. I know the MTC will be a highlight of my mission. I learn so much here and I´ve had a ton of good times. We teach a lot, and I know I´m getting better. Even though the people we teach are fake, I´m getting better at helping them with their fake problems. One scripture I have shared with all of my fake investigators is Helaman 5:12. It talks about how we need to build our foundation upon Christ, and we will be able to get through hard things. All of the people we teach are different, but this scripture applies to everyone because we all have problems and hard things that we have to go through in life. It has helped me a ton and I know that if we all build our foundation upon Christ, we will be able to get through the hard things in life better because he will help us.
Time to go! I love you all so much! I hope you all have an awesome week!
