Happy Memorial Day! We usually email at the library in Wasco, but it is closed today because of the holiday. We did find a place to do emailing here in Delano. We don't have much time so this letter will be pretty quick... It has been a fun week. We have had some really good lessons with Angela, Jesus and Jose, and Beatrice. Those three are progressing slowly, but they are solid. I'm really grateful that we get to teach them, they are awesome. We have also been visiting Andy and Diana in Lost Hills. I don't know if I have mentioned them yet. They just moved there from Napa a few months ago. They were taught by the missionaries there and called us to set up visits with us after they moved. They are really cool. Andy works seven days a week and Diana takes care of their two little kids Amar (3) and Rhianna (1) all day in a little trailer. They really look forward to our visits because they don't really know anyone else in the area. Andy is trying really hard to getSunday off so that he can come to church with his family. He even said that he is looking for another job that will give him Sundays off. I am excited to see them at church, I know that they will be there soon. I love the people that we get to teach.
The new transfer starts today. We got transfer calls, telling us whether we would stay or leave our area, on Saturday. I'm staying! I am so happy. Elder Ruelas is staying too. He is going to finish his mission here, because he goes home in six weeks. He actually just told me that he got his travel plans via email... That's crazy! In 19 months, I'll be getting MY travel plans. I'm excited for him, it will be cool to see him get ready to see his family again. I have enjoyed serving with him and I have learned a lot. I am officially done with my training. As far as the other Elders in our apartment, Elder Martinez is staying and Elder Uscanga is leaving. I'm really glad Elder Martinez is staying. Today for P-Day we boxed. It was so funny. Elder Martinez is the one in the picture boxing with me. He is hilarious. ( I think the picture is actually on my blog, chadpatrickthompson.weebly.com) I am a little bummed that Elder Uscanga is leaving. He is a great missionary. I really hope we get to be companions sometime in the future. Transfers are exciting, I am looking forward to seeing who our new roommate is. Well, I should get going. I am doing awesome. I love my area, the people I am teaching, the members and the people here in Wasco. I'm so lucky to have another six weeks here. I hope you all have a great week.
Love,
Elder Chad Thompson
