Hey!! Week two in the MTC done! I can't believe I'm already half a month into my mission! It went by so fast! I'm having a blast out here!! This week was busy! We kept teaching our fake investigator Miguel. It has been difficult to speak with him in Spanish, but we are getting a lot better every day. We finished teaching him this past weekend. After all of the companionship in my District had finished teaching him, he talked to us each for about a half hour and told us how we can improve our teaching and stuff like that. As soon as Elder Kim and I walked into the room to talk to him, he said, "Are you from Michigan???" It was awesome! His grandparents are the Snows, who live in my home ward and have known my Mom for a very long time. His Mom even went to the same high school as my Mom! It was funny because he said that all week, while we were teaching him, he wanted to ask me about Michigan, but he had to stay in character. It was so awesome!
I've really been getting a lot closer to everyone in my Zone too. There are four Districts in my zone. My District of eight guys and another District of five gals both got here two weeks ago. The other two Districts both got here about six weeks ago. Those two Districts just left on Monday. I've been super bummed because I've gotten to know all of them and they are all so fun. They've all been super helpful to all of us newbies... It's a bummer that our Zone is now cut in half, but I know they're off helping people now. On the plus side, WE GET NEW PEOPLE TODAY!!! Two new Districts are coming in today!! I can't wait to meet them all. I hope I get to see them and talk to them at dinner. I know how bummed out I was on my first day, so I'm going to try to help them out a little bit.
I'm having such an awesome time here! Every day we have about an hour of gym time. Here at West Campus, there are three huge bubbles or domes. One of them has three basketball courts, one has a basketball court and a bunch of treadmills, and the last one has four volleyball courts. I spend every single day playing volleyball! It is so much fun! A lot of my skills from summer sand volleyball in the backyard are coming back to me! My District tears it up every day!
I'm having a lot of fun, but it's still hard. I really miss my family. I really miss not having to spend 24 hours with another dude (even though my Asian comp is pretty cool). Doing this whole mission thing ain't easy! Every time I get homesick and miss my family, I just look through the photo albums my Mom sent with me and say a prayer, and I'm good. It works every time. That's one thing I've learned while I've been here. Prayer is so awesome and important. It has strengthened me so much during my time here. Every time I pray to help me feel less homesick, I feel better and know that my family loves me and that I will see them soon.
Tonight, we meet our next investigator! And then tomorrow we meet another investigator! That's right, we are going to have TWO investigators! This is gonna get interesting...
Well, I love you all. I hope y'all had a great week. I hope watching the super bowl was fun! The people working in the cafeteria kept us posted on the score, so we know the Seahawks won. They say it wasn't too much of an interesting game. Glad I didn't miss much! Well, keep on truckin. Love y'all!
