So this whole weekend I was sick!! It was totally bogus!! The MTC is like a giant fishbowl of missionaries, so when someone in your District gets sick, odds are you might get sick too. And thats exactly what happened! It was really weird, the main thing was my throat. It was hurting way bad and was really hard to talk on Saturday. My teacher told me to go back to the apartment and rest so I spent a lot of the time at the apartment on Saturday, which was really boring. But I'm all good now!!! Woohoo!!!
Speaking of Saturday, I hit my one month mark!!! It feels crazy to have been gone for a whole month! My Mom has some countdown blocks at the house that countdown the number of months I have until I come home. She flips it every time a month passes. I have my own tradition too! Every month on the 22nd, I wear the same clothes I wore when I left South Lyon. So this Saturday, I wore my black suit and green checkered tie, while I was in bed sick!
So in a couple of days, I will finally be in Bakersfield! So this is my last post from the MTC! My P-Day will then probably be on Mondays. So you won't hear from me again until next Monday. I am so excited though, because when I fly to Bakersfield, I have a two hour layover in Los Angeles! And during your layover, you get to call home! It is going to be so awesome, I can't wait! I also can't wait to get to B-Field! I love the MTC and I'm going to miss the friends I've made, but I'm reading to hit the streets and get to work! My Spanish is nowhere even close to ready, but I will learn as I go along! I have had so many great experiences in the MTC that have gotten me so psyched to preach the Gospel in California! It is going to be awesome. Also, it is going to be super warm too! I'm looking forward to that too!
Well, it is time to go! I hope you all are having an awesome week! Thank you so much to everyone who has sent me packages and letters! I get so excited for mail! It is the best! But remember to not send anything to the MTC anymore, because by the time it gets here, I will probably be a goner... Well, adios! Have a great week!!!
Much love,
Elder Chad Thompson
